ASOC

Academic Security Operations Center

The Kiras project ASOC aims to investigate a rapid and automated information exchange of security information, IOCs, rules, SOAR workflows, use cases, playbooks and knowledge in an academic context.

This joint approach supports Austrian universities in the task of protecting their digital infrastructure, optimally utilizing synergy effects and significantly increasing cyber security while developing proactive measures, attack detection and countermeasures for all participants.

Non-Goals

  • Evaluation or development of an information security management system
  • Evaluation or development of a Security Operation Center with functionalities such as logging, Security Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM), Security Orchestration Automation Response, Vulnerability Scanning/Management, Security Incident Response, etc.

SBA Research and their partners develop the concepts for an academic SOC and designs and tests a corresponding technical solution for education, training and research for the universities.
