Dr. Eyal Kolman, Principal research scientist, CTO RSA Israel | RSA, The Security Division of EMC, gives a talk about “Machine Learning in security applications ”.
Bio: Dr. Eyal Kolman has been applying machine learning research for industry, academia, and the Israeli navy, for almost two decades. For the RSA Israel CTO, he currently leads a research team focused on developing machine-learning solutions for the cyber-defense and IT security sectors.
Abstract: Although Machine Learning tools are commonly used in numerous applications such as direct advertisements, recommendation engines, algo-trading and more, the big boom of advanced analytics in security systems is still yet to come. After introducing the main concepts of Machine Learning, we will discuss some of the promises and challenges in applying machine learning on big data for security, present the current paradigm for utilizing machine learning algorithms to solve IT security problems, and demonstrate few concrete use-cases.
