MATRIS at IWCT 2025
The MATRIS Research Group of SBA Research attended the 14th International Workshop on Combinatorial Testing (IWCT 2025) in Naples, Italy, the premier venue for research on combinatorial testing. The topics presented include algorithms for the construction of discrete mathematical objects and repositories thereof, novel applications of combinatorial testing including AI bias detection, training optimization and dynamically adaptive systems, and technology transfer endeavours that improve upon the practical applicability of combinatorial testing methods such as the use of LLMs to rapidly extract required input parameter models from human-readable documentation.
Bernhard Garn, together with Angelo Gargantini and Andrea Bombarda (University of Bergamo), took on the role of Program Committee Chairs. In addition, Bernhard presented Combinatorial Methods for Enhancing the Resilience of Production Facilities, a joint work with Infraprotect and NIST.

Following the keynote by Juraj Somorovsky (Uni Paderborn) on Lessons learned from systematic security testing of TLS, Manuel Leithner presented a work on the practical integration of Combinatorial (Security) Testing workflows in Continuous Integration and Deployment environments, continuing a shift of combinatorial testing methods towards practical applicability.
