Threat Modelling workshop – Let’s Inspect
Everyone knows about the challenges in our nice connected world and if we are a producer, we usually ensure to our customers that our solution is secure. But is this really the case or better to ask, how risky is a security problem for me. In order to answer this hypothesis or the concern we need to inspect the solution. Therefore, different opportunities are possible without actively attack the solution. So let’s do some paper-based analysis better known as threat modelling. Here different approaches exist having various perspectives in mind, such as a technical risk analysis or a business impact analysis.
In this meetup selected methods will be briefly explained and one is applied in a practical manner by you. So be interactive and have different “glasses” on. You will be surprised with how less knowledge you can gain massive access to systems or data. So is your system and environment really save and trustworthy?

About the Speaker:

Corinna Schmitt is the head of the Secure Communication Systems (SeCoSys) Group and member of the NCC-DE at the Research Institute CODE of the Universität der Bundeswehr München. She holds a Ph.D. in Informatics as well as a habilitation. Her research focuses on cybersecurity in military and civil applications on the ground and in the air. Additionally, she investigates socio-economic factors related to current applications enhancing the acceptance of new technology in manifold areas as well as rising awareness for security and resilience at the same time. Her research is partly standardized under IETF and ITU as well as published in numerous articles on national and international venues. More information under https://www.corinna-schmitt.de.
