Gabriel Gegenhuber @USENIX & DEF CON

On the 13th of August, Gabriel Gegenhuber presented his new MobileAtlas Paper on the USENIX Security conference.

Post-USENIX Security, Gabriels journey continued as he went to Las Vegas for DEF CON 2023. There, he had the privilege of co-presenting with Adrian Dabrowski, a fellow researcher deeply passionate about MobileAtlas. Together, they shared insights into the MobileAtlas measurement platform and unveiled their pioneering SIM-Tunneling Mechanism.

The DEF CON talk extended beyond theory as they presented real-world measurements from our publications, including “MobileAtlas: Geographically Decoupled Measurements in Cellular Networks for Security and Privacy Research” and “Zero-Rating, One Big Mess: Analyzing Differential Pricing Practices of European MNOs.” These measurements provided tangible evidence of MobileAtlas’ potential in cellular network research.
