SHEdigital – round table for women-in-it networks

On September 15, 2022, SBA Research hosted the first round table for women-in-IT networks organized by the city of Vienna and DigitalCity.Wien. An impressive number of 30 networks, represented by 42 women, presented themselves, their mission, goals, and activities. Stephanie Jakoubi (SBA Research and University of Vienna) together with Brigitte Lutz (City of Vienna) and Angela Djuric (UIV Urban Innovation Vienna) guided through the workshop.

The 30 represented networks address a broad target group, from teachers, kids, students, women who are already in IT, up to women or girls who are interested in IT but don’t know where and how to start.

Networks from university, technology focus, very general IT, funding up to role model programs sat together on one table to discuss how to support women in IT, get more girls and women into IT and foster gender balance.

SBA Research is excited to be represented with our “Women in Privacy and Security Vienna” network, which was founded by senior staff members Yvonne Poul, Johanna Ullrich (SBA Research and University of Vienna), Stephanie Jakoubi and Martina Lindorfer (TU Vienna) and Women4Cyber Austria Chapter (Stephanie Jakoubi as a founding member).

This round table represented the kick-off for further cooperation to support and increase the number of girls and women in the IT.
