In his research he focused on Software/Systems Engineering, Software Process Improvement, Empirical Software Engineering, Quality Assurance and Quality Management and Software Inspection .
Bio
Dietmar Winkler is senior researcher at SBA Research gGmbH and at the Vienna University of Technology as member of the research group for Quality Software Engineering at Institute for Software Engineering and Interactive Systems. Since 2010 he is working as project assistant in the Christian Doppler Laboratory “Software Engineering Integration for Flexible Automation Systems”.
Additionally he is working as a consultant for quality assurance and process management in software engineering and as quality management consultant in the automotive business area.
In 2007 he worked as a guest researcher at Czech Technical University, Department of Cybernetics in Prague (CZ). In 2008 he received a scholarship (by Siemens Austria and the Faculty of Informatics, TU Vienna) for a 4 months research stay at the Fraunhofer Institute of Experimental Software Engineering in Kaiserslautern (DE).
He studied computer science at the Vienna University of Technology with emphasis on Software Engineering, Quality Management and Requirements Engineering. In 2015 he received a PhD in computer science (Thesis: “Improving Engineering Processes and Quality Assurance in Heterogeneous Engineering Environments”) from Vienna University of Technology. In 2003 he received an MS in computer Science (Thesis: “Empirical Evaluation of Inspections as a Quality Management Approach for Defect Detection in the Context of Software Engineering”) from the Vienna University of Technology.
