Nearly 10 years ago, the slogan of IT entrepreneur and founder of Netscape Marc Andreessen “Software eats the world” was born. He was right about one thing: software has become the digital nervous system of our modern society. There are no longer any areas of life – from running water to food supply, mobility, communication, medicine, politics and administration – that have not become completely dependent on software.
Tom Konrad, a longtime software and security expert on this topic has been working as a penetration tester and software developer in the security team at SBA Research for over ten years. He is also co-founder of the sec4dev conference, a security conference especially for software developers.
